Each group of users has its own workspace, where the member of the group can perform action privately of other students.<\/p>\n<p>Your instructor can create a group, place you or allow you to select the group you want to join and provide a number of tools.<\/p>\n<p>Follow the directions below (while inside your course):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click &#8220;<strong>Tools&#8221;<\/strong> in the Course menu.<\/li>\n<li>Click &#8220;<strong>Groups&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-36-1.png\" rel=\"lightbox-0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5411\" src=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-36-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"483\" height=\"236\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-36-1.png 820w, https:\/\/web.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-36-1-300x147.png 300w, https:\/\/web.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-36-1-768x376.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 483px) 100vw, 483px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Below there is the description of each group&#8217;s available tools:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>File Exchange<\/strong> &#8211; All members, as well as your instructor, can add files. They can also delete files, regardless of who added them.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Group Discussion Board<\/strong> -Users within the group can create and manage their own forums and discuss topics with just the group members.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Group Blog<\/strong> -All course members can, read and comment on a group blog, but they cannot make posts unless they are members of the group. Your instructor can select the grade option for group blogs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Group Journal<\/strong> &#8211; All members of a group can view each group member entries, but the group journal can only be viewed by the group and your instructor.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Group Wiki <\/strong>&#8211; Users within the group can edit, and view their group wiki. Your instructor can view and edit a group wiki.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Send Email <\/strong>&#8211; Users within the group can email the other members or the entire group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are also <strong>Group Assignments<\/strong> or\u00a0 <strong>Group Task<\/strong> -&gt; Users within the group can create tasks that are distributed to all group members.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Groups Page contains tab:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Add Personal Module<\/strong>: By clicking this tab you can select which <strong>Course modules<\/strong> you can see when you enter the Groups page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2019\/10\/group12.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox-1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4606\" src=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2019\/10\/group12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"305\" height=\"548\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2019\/10\/group12.jpg 302w, https:\/\/web.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2019\/10\/group12-167x300.jpg 167w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 305px) 100vw, 305px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>How to enter a group<\/h3>\n<p>Your instructor can make many groups available and allow you to choose the group you want to join or just place you into one. The instructor can make the names of the group members available in order to help you decide which group to sign-up to.\u00a0Also the instructor of your course chooses which tool the groups member can access.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2014\/11\/Groups2.png\" rel=\"lightbox-2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-3598 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2014\/11\/Groups2.png\" alt=\"Groups\" width=\"108\" height=\"142\" \/><\/a><strong>To sign-up to a group:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The instructor of your course can place the <strong>Sign-up<\/strong> link inside the <strong>Groups<\/strong> page and can create a link to it from other areas of the course. (ex. Content ares, folders.)<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to the <strong>Groups<\/strong> page and click <strong>Sign-up<\/strong> to access the sign-up sheet.<\/li>\n<li>While inside the sign-up sheet, click the <strong>Sign-up<\/strong> button to join this group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2014\/11\/Groups3.png\" rel=\"lightbox-3\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3599\" src=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2014\/11\/Groups3.png\" alt=\"Groups\" width=\"160\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2014\/11\/Groups3.png 318w, https:\/\/web.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2014\/11\/Groups3-286x300.png 286w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 160px) 100vw, 160px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>How to create a group<\/h3>\n<p>If the instructor has allowed it, you are able to create a group.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Navigate to the <strong>Groups<\/strong> page.<\/li>\n<li>Click the &#8220;<strong>Create Group&#8221;<\/strong> button at the top of the screen.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Create Group<\/strong> page, provide a name for your group and an optional description.<\/li>\n<li>Provide a <strong>Name of Sign-up Sheet<\/strong> and an optional description.<\/li>\n<li>Type the <strong>Maximum Number of Members<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Remember to click &#8220;<strong>Submit&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>How to email group members<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Access the group you want and click the &#8220;<strong>Send Email&#8221;<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n<li>While inside the <strong>Send Email <\/strong>page, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">select the recipients<\/span> of the email in the Available to Select box.<\/li>\n<li>Type a <strong>Subject<\/strong> for your email.<\/li>\n<li>Type a <strong>Message<\/strong> for your email.<\/li>\n<li>If you want to include a file in your email click <strong>&#8220;Browse My Computer&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong>(There are other ways to attach a file, for assistance click<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/blackboard-assingments\/\">here<\/a><\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li>Remember to click &#8220;<strong>Submit&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to exchange files within a group<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Access the group you want and click the &#8220;<strong>File Exchange&#8221;<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n<li>While inside the page, click &#8220;<strong>Add File&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>While on the <strong>Add File<\/strong> page click the &#8220;<strong>Browse My Computer&#8221;<\/strong> to upload a file from your computer.<\/li>\n<li>Remember to click &#8220;<strong>Submit&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2014\/11\/Groups4.png\" rel=\"lightbox-4\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3608\" src=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2014\/11\/Groups4.png\" alt=\"Groups\" width=\"328\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2014\/11\/Groups4.png 714w, https:\/\/web.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2014\/11\/Groups4-300x217.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 328px) 100vw, 328px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>How to submit Group Assignments<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>You can either select the group assignment from a course menu item created by your instructor or you can click the name of the assignment inside the group.<\/li>\n<li>While on the <em>Upload Assignment<\/em> page :\n<ul>\n<li>Review the instructions provided by your instructor.<\/li>\n<li>Download any files provided by your instructor.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the Assignment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Optionally, you can type your comments.<\/li>\n<li>Remember to click &#8220;<strong>Submit&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div role=\"header\">Ultra View<\/div><div role=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Work in Groups in Blackboard - Students\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gRjwH5X2no0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">Instructors have the ability to create group assignments, tests, and discussions that allow you to collaborate with other students. They can either enroll you in groups or ask you to join them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">To access your groups, go to the\u00a0<strong>Groups<\/strong>\u00a0page by selecting &#8220;Groups&#8221; on your course&#8217;s main page. Your group name will be displayed under the corresponding group set name. You can also use a journal as a self-reflective tool to post your opinions, ideas, and concerns about your course, or discuss and analyze course related materials.\nYour instructor can choose to make journal entries public, allowing all course members to view all entries. You can create another journal entry for a topic at any time\n\n\n<ul>\n \t\n\n<li>Give a title for your entry<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Type your message or upload your file and click Post Entry (G) or Save Entry as Draft (H) to save the entry for later posting.<\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\nB. <strong>About this Journal<\/strong> - View information about the specific Journal\nC. <strong>Comments<\/strong> - You can view comments posted by other users, clicking the link located at the left side of the content frame\n\n\n<ul>\n \t\n\n<li>You can add comments by clicking the Comment button located at the right side of the content frame.<\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\nD. <strong>More Journals<\/strong> - View journal entries made by other course members.\nE. <strong>Index <\/strong>- View the titles of journal entries.
