{"id":1099,"date":"2014-11-05T10:27:30","date_gmt":"2014-11-05T10:27:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/?page_id=1099"},"modified":"2025-03-28T08:16:53","modified_gmt":"2025-03-28T08:16:53","slug":"send-email","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/send-email\/","title":{"rendered":"Send Email"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-smooth=\"accordion\" class=\"\"><div role=\"header\">Original View<\/div><div role=\"content\"><\/p>\n<h2>Original View<\/h2>\n<p>To find the <strong>Send Email <\/strong>tool follow the directions below (while inside your course):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click &#8220;<strong>Tools&#8221;<\/strong> in the Course menu.<\/li>\n<li>Click &#8220;<strong>Send Email&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can send email to the following people in a course:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>All Users<\/strong>: Sends email to all users in the course.<\/li>\n<li><strong>All Groups<\/strong>: Sends email to all of the groups in a specified course.<\/li>\n<li><strong>All Teaching Assistant Users<\/strong>: Sends email to all of the Teaching Assistants in a specified course.<\/li>\n<li><strong>All Student Users<\/strong>: Sends an email to all students in the course.<\/li>\n<li><strong>All Instructor Users<\/strong>: Sends email to all of the instructors for a specified course.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Select Users<\/strong>: Sends email to selected users.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Select Groups<\/strong>: Sends email to selected groups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Keep in mind that recipient of the email you sent will not see the email\u00a0addresses\u00a0of other recipients.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-37.png\" rel=\"lightbox-0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5419\" src=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-37.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"234\" height=\"446\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-37.png 370w, https:\/\/web.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-37-157x300.png 157w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 234px) 100vw, 234px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>How to send an Email<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>On the course menu, click &#8220;<strong>Tools&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>On the\u00a0<strong>Tools<\/strong> page, click &#8220;<strong>Send Email&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>On the\u00a0<strong>Select Users<\/strong> or\u00a0<strong>Select Groups<\/strong> page , select the option that best suit you. For example, you can select <strong>All Users<\/strong> if you want to send an email to all users enrolled at this course or you can select <strong>Select Users <\/strong>if you want to send an email to certain users.<\/li>\n<li>Type the <strong>Subject<\/strong> of your email.<\/li>\n<li>Type the <strong>Message<\/strong>. A copy of the email you sent is also sent to the sender.<\/li>\n<li>If you want to attach a file click <strong>Attach a file<\/strong> to add one or more files from your computer.<\/li>\n<li>Click &#8220;<strong>Submit&#8221;<\/strong> to send the email.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"warning\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Warning<\/span>:<\/span> Blackboard Learn doesn&#8217;t send emails directly. It uses your ACG email user account to send them. Check your acg.edu email inbox for a copy of the email sent via your course in Bb.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div role=\"header\">Ultra View<\/div><div role=\"content\"><\/p>\n<h2>Ultra View<\/h2>\n<p>The new way to send an email is through the renewed &#8220;Messages&#8221; tab, which is located in the left side menu and inside the course. To send a message, select the course from which you want to send the message and click the &#8220;Messages&#8221; tab. After that you need to click the &#8220;New Message&#8221; button &#8211; located in the top right corner.
