{"id":3170,"date":"2015-09-14T09:55:19","date_gmt":"2015-09-14T09:55:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/?page_id=3170"},"modified":"2024-07-12T14:11:15","modified_gmt":"2024-07-12T14:11:15","slug":"activate-your-vs-user-account-updated-students","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/activate-your-vs-user-account-updated-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Activate your VS user account"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Activate your Vital Source user account via Blackboard Learn<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>To access the eTextbook&#8217;s content, you will first need to activate your Vital Source user account via Blackboard Learn.<\/p>\n<p>To do that follow the steps below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit your Blackboard Learn course.<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>eTextbook<\/strong> menu item<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>eTextbook<\/strong> <strong>link<\/strong> you see to launch the <em>Bookshelf by VitalSource<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When you open an eTextbook, you will be redirected to the <strong>Launch Bookshelf Link<\/strong> page with an acknowledgment message.<\/p>\n<p>After you click <strong>Launch<\/strong>, you will be redirected to another page with the prompt to <strong>Register<\/strong> or <strong>Sign In<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>To\u00a0<strong>Register<\/strong> follow the instructions below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Create a VitalSource account.<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2022\/09\/etextbook.png\" rel=\"lightbox-0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2022\/09\/etextbook-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On the next page, you have to fill in your personal information. Add your @acg.edu email as an email and <strong>NOT<\/strong>\u00a0any other email.<br \/>\nFill in your name and select a security question of your choice.<br \/>\nBe sure to select the last checkbox to be able to continue to the next step.<br \/>\nYou can also select the box above, but it is optional.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2022\/09\/etextbook.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox-1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.acg.edu\/web\/blackboard\/files\/2022\/09\/etextbook-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Click <strong>Create<\/strong> to complete the registration.<\/li>\n<li>You are now logged in to your VitalSource Bookshelf user account.<\/li>\n<li>You can start browsing.\u00a0<strong>You do not need to Redeem any eTextbook Code.<\/strong>\u00a0You can browse the store if you wish but you\u00a0<u>DO NOT buy your eTextbook(s) from here<\/u>.
