You can customize the gradebook, search submissions, and upload or download grades.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"blackboard-user-sentiment\">Access the gradebook<\/h3>\n<p>From\u00a0<span class=\"emphasize\">Courses<\/span>, open a course. Then select\u00a0<span class=\"emphasize\">Gradebook\u00a0<\/span>at the top of the page.<\/p>\n<p>You can manage items and post grades from two views: the<strong>\u00a0<span class=\"emphasize\">List view<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong><span class=\"emphasize\">Grade view<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div data-smooth=\"accordion\" class=\"\"><div role=\"header\">List view <\/div><div role=\"content\"><\/p>\n<h3>List view<\/h3>\n<p>The list view has two tabs: One for gradable items and another tab for students. Select the list view button to access the list view.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"emphasize\"><strong>Gradable items tab<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span>The Gradable Items tab displays all gradable items in your course. You can view due dates, grading status, and item categories. You can also post grades and adjust the overall grade\u00a0calculation\u00a0for the course.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Items with missing submissions past the due date display in red.<\/li>\n<li>Use the move button to\u00a0drag and drop\u00a0items in a new order.<\/li>\n<li>Select an\u00a0item\u2019s name to go to its Submissions or Grades &amp; Participation page.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<span class=\"emphasize\">X\u00a0to grade\u00a0<\/span>to go directly to the assessment\u2019s Submissions page and start grading.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: In order to view the overall grade calculation you will have to set up the <strong>overall grade<\/strong> of the course. Use the arrow buttons to sort columns into ascending or descending order.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embedded-entity\" data-entity-type=\"media\" data-entity-uuid=\"9fe2b84e-d3e3-4a1f-bfd7-cfc8dec6b2fc\" data-embed-button=\"media_browser\" data-entity-embed-display=\"view_mode:media.embedded\" data-entity-embed-display-settings=\"&#091;&#093;\" data-langcode=\"en\">\n<div class=\"field field--name-image field--type-image field--label-hidden field__items\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/help.blackboard.com\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/rich_text_large\/public\/images\/2023-12\/learn_ultra_instructor_Gradebook_EnhancedGridView_0_0.png.jpg?itok=nkVqMGIY\" alt=\"Gradebook grid view full page\" width=\"642\" height=\"298\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In the grid, you can select a student\u2019s gradable item to open a menu with these options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"emphasize\">View\u00a0<\/span>\u2014\u00a0Go directly to the assignment submission and start grading.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"emphasize\">Feedback\u00a0<\/span>\u2014 Enter feedback for\u00a0<span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW241807324 BCX0\">overridden\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed GrammarErrorHighlight SCXW241807324 BCX0\">test\/<\/span>assignment grades and automatic zeros.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"emphasize\">Post\u00a0<\/span>\u2014 Post a grade that\u2019s been assigned but not yet posted.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"emphasize\">Add or edit exceptions<\/span>\u00a0\u2014 If an assignment is timed or has a due date, you can add exceptions here, as well as allow multiple attempts.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"emphasize\">Add or edit exemptions<\/span>\u00a0\u2014 You can remove an assignment from being counted towards a student\u2019s overall grade.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The student grid contains color-coded text:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"emphasize\">Green\u00a0<\/span>\u2014 Posted grades<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"emphasize\">Red\u00a0<\/span>\u2014\u00a0Automatic zeros<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"emphasize\">Purple\u00a0<\/span>\u2014\u00a0New submissions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"embedded-entity\" data-entity-type=\"media\" data-entity-uuid=\"1570864b-800e-4f0b-a3fd-6c8ad81f5e9f\" data-embed-button=\"media_browser\" data-entity-embed-display=\"view_mode:media.embedded\" data-entity-embed-display-settings=\"&#091;&#093;\" data-langcode=\"en\">\n<div class=\"field field--name-image field--type-image field--label-hidden field__items\"><img src=\"https:\/\/help.blackboard.com\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/rich_text_large\/public\/images\/2023-11\/Gradebook-gridview-more-options.png.jpg?itok=SVuQrN0k\" alt=\"More options menu options for grid view in Gradebook\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>For a more efficient grading experience, you can customize the grid view:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use sort options on\u00a0each gradable item&#8217;s\u00a0column to view the information ascending or descending order.<\/li>\n<li>With the\u00a0<span class=\"emphasize\">Filter\u00a0<\/span>button, you can narrow the information displayed in the grid to exactly what you need: Students,\u00a0Groups,\u00a0Gradable items, Assessment type, or Categories.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><div role=\"header\">How to set up the overall grade? <\/div><div role=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>When you select the gradebook at your course you are needed to set up the overall grade system, in order for the grades to be calculated according to your institution standards.<\/p>\n<p>At the bottom of the page you will find the following message.
