Activities Week connects students and societies
The Student Government organized its second Activities Week on April 8-10 at the Aghia Paraskevi Campus, gathering the interest of dozens of students who interacted with student leaders and participated in a number of events planned for their entertainment.
The Activities Week unites the student groups on campus every semester. It provides Clubs, Societies and Organizations with an opportunity to showcase their events and achievements and gives them a platform to increase their outreach to the student body and enlarge their membership base.
The groups participating in this edition included the Accounting and Finance, CIS, International Business and Marketing societies, the Debating and Ski clubs and the Student Emergency Response Force, who organized events as diverse as video games tournaments and an academic debate on integrity issues featuring professors Katsas and Pyrocacos and students.
“The Activities Week is an important event because it increases student involvement in co-curricular activities” said Gerasimos Papandrikopoulos, Events Coordinator of the Student Government. “Student involvement distinguishes our institution from other universities and enriches student experience.”
The Week closed with the XXX7 Invitational Debating Tournament, a national competition that involved 40 teams from Greece’s top high schools and universities. The next global campus event is the Mayfest which is planned for May 15.
