Libra’s Logothetis urges graduates to help “end Greek crisis,” stay “kind”
In an inspiring commencement speech, George Logothetis, CEO of the Libra Group, urged DEREE graduates to think about “what you will do to prevent the crisis from continuing and not what the crisis is going to prevent you from doing,” adding “see life through a prism of possibilities and indulge in trying to convert this potential into chances.”
DEREE alumna wins top prize at TechNet Europe’s SECON
Jolanta Wos (DEREE ’06) received top honors at TechNet Europe’s 10th SECON – the International Electronic and Telecommunication Conference of Students and Young Scientists – which took place May 27-29 in Warsaw, Poland within the framework of TechNet Europe 2013.

PIERCE Scholarship Fundraising Coffee at the Acropolis Museum
The Class of PIERCE 1973 is marking its 40-year anniversary these holidays by organizing a campaign to raise scholarship funds not just through its class gift, but also through a call to action for all PIERCE alumni to give to students in need.
UK alumni’s summer reunion
Close to 80 ACG alumni and friends who work in or near London caught up at the ACG London Reunion on May 16, reuniting with classmates and making new friends and contacts at a reception held at the London Hilton Park Lane.
DEREE alumnus Politis’ Bike-A-Thon raises €15,000
Cycling 800 kilometres through Greece to raise funds for scholarships is an impressive feat, and Dimitris Politis’ (DEREE ’90) inspiring ACG Bike-A-Thon (link to www.acg.edu/bikeathon) in April single-handedly raised €15,000 ($20,000) for DEREE and PIERCE students.
Alumni in sports
Alumni are an integral part of ACG’s intercollegiate sports – and enthusiastic members to boot! This year, four DEREE graduates will be playing in ACG’s intercollegiate, federation-sponsored championship Basketball and Volleyball games.
PIERCE Alumnae Bazaar revival
Rekindling a tradition begun in Smyrna close to the date of the College’s founding there in 1875, the PIERCE Class of 1958 raised €5,000 ($6,700) during the revival of the PIERCE College alumnae fundraising Bazaar.
