<p>Vassiliki Markaki (PIERCE ’01) hopes to inspire kids to learn though a number of fun activities outlined in her book <em>Discovering the Ancient Treasures of the Olive</em>, by Fish publications.</p>

<p>Markaki has worked with the Goulandris Natural History Museum-GAIA  Centre and the Hellenic Office of the European Parliament on the design  of educational activities. Her areas of expertise include creating  learning activities that effectively connect formal and non-formal  learning, as well as environmental education and the use of technology  in the design of interactive exhibits and unique educational  experiences. She is currently working at the R&amp;D department of the  Ellinogermaniki Agogi school.</p>
<p>Markaki graduated from the Department of European &amp; International  Studies of the University of Piraeus (2005), and studied Art History at  DEREE. She holds an MA in Arts Management (2006), and an MA in  Museum and Gallery Management (2007), both from London City University.</p>
