Ioanna Delakou (DEREE ’03) is starring in My Life, Isadora Duncan at the Argos theatre in Athens, in a one-woman show directed by Thanasis Theologis, based on the life of the famed American dancer who was one of the founders of free expressionist dance and an advocate for a return to ancient Greek choreography.
After pursuing her BA in Management at DEREE, Delakou worked at the Printec Group. She also did theatre, music and dance studies before embarking on her acting career.
She has played in The Night of Murderers (H. Triana), The Barber of Seville (P. Beaumarchais), The Last Cigarette (S. Gray) – a duet with G.Partsalakis, Eight Women (R. Thomas), The Mousetrap (A. Christie), Orpheus is Alive (T. Chrisoulis), Babies are Coming by the Stork (Repas-Papathanasiou), and in the Aristophanes plays The Frogs (Epidaurus-Herodion), Assembly of Women, and The Clouds.
Delakou is a member of both the Council of Greek Actors and UNESCO’s International Dance Council.
