Many DEREE alumni came to DEREE Career Days 2014, including Alkistis Kyza (DEREE 2006), OTE-COSMOTE, Irene Dimou (DEREE 1999) L’Oreal Hellas and Nikoletta Kavathouli (DEREE 2002), Mercedes Benz Hellas.

Other DEREE alumni in leading positions in the business world and students who have interned with multinational companies through DEREE’s International Internship & Study Abroad Program also shared their views and experiences, as scores of students and employers came together at DEREE-The American College of Greece on 14-16 October during the annual event. Career Days has been connecting DEREE students with the job market since 1976, when DEREE became the first institution to launch this service in Greece.

During the three-day event in mid October, representatives from 60 world-leading companies from various sectors – such as 3E, The Coca-Cola Company, Nestlé, Johnson & Johnson, the LIBRA Group, L’Oréal Greece, Athenian Brewery, Folli Follie Group, and others – visited ACG’s Ag. Paraskevi campus to connect with over 250 participating students and to explore recruitment opportunities through brief interviews with them.

Initiatives, such as Career Days, have helped DEREE students find opportunities and positions in the job market. A whopping 68 per cent of DEREE’s graduating Class of 2013 was able to find work within six months of graduation – a considerable advantage considering today’s economy, where youth unemployment is consistently high.
