DEREE’s Libra interns meet President Barack Obama
DEREE’s partnership with the Libra Group in 2011 helped to bring about DEREE’s International Internship & Study Abroad Program (IISAP), which includes the Libra Internship Program. The Libra Internship Program originally began as an initiative to provide opportunity for Greek communities and Greece in the midst of economic turmoil.

For the second year running, five PIERCE students will be given the opportunity to attend Phillips Exeter Academy’s Summer School through the generous support of Mr Spiros Boua, co-founder of LitePoint and an Exeter alumnus.
German Ambassador lectures at DEREE
His Excellency Dr Peter Schoof, the German Ambassador to Greece, lectured on “Germany’s role in Europe,” at DEREE – The American College of Greece on December 2, as part of the Ambassadors’ Forum series organized by ACG’s Institute of Diplomacy & Global Affairs in collaboration with DEREE’s School of Business.
ACG Cares Raises Funds, Food & Clothes
ACG CARES has been active this Fall semester gathering food and money to support people in need. Odeon Cinemas generously donated two cinema tickets for lottery to raise money for food. The J. S. Bailey Library donated books that were made available in the DEREE main corridor for a donation of at least one euro. This effort will continue as we are hoping students and alumni will also support it by bringing in books they have finished reading.
Mayor Boutaris wants to name street or square in honor of late Dr Albert Arouh
Mayor Yiannis Boutaris of Thessaloniki has said he will propose naming a street or square after retired faculty member Professor Emeritus Albert Arouh, PhD, who passed away on April 12th.

Stavros Theodorakis, head of “To Potami” party, lectures on foreign policy & other topics at ACG
Stavros Theodorakis, the head of the political party To Potami, gave a lecture at The American College of Greece’s Institute of Diplomacy and Global Affairs on his party’s positions on foreign policy, but also expanded on other matters of interest in view of the political climate and the upcoming presidential elections in Greece.
Students of DEREE-ACG’s Parallel Studies Program Win the Case in a Global Competition
The American College of Greece is proud to announce that three Parallel Studies DEREE students who are studying law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens: Claire Sergaki (BA Hons in Economics), Eirini Kikarea (minor in Finance), and Theodora Koutentaki (Stavros Niarchos Foundation Scholar, minor in Finance), were part of a team that won third place at the Global Rounds of the International Moot Court Competition Foreign Direct Investment (FDI Moot –www.fdimoot.org).
