Congratulations to Dr Vasso Episkopou (PIERCE ‘74), who has won the Exaliptron Women’s Award for Science from the Exaliptron Women’s Club for the Arts, Letters, Culture, and Sciences of Piraeus.
Ms Episkopou, a world-renowned geneticist who teaches at Imperial College in London, received the award for her work in early March.
Vasso Episkopou graduated from PIERCE in 1974, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Patra in Greece in 1980, followed by her Ph.D in 1989 from Columbia University (Medical Centre), New York.
