Tourism Awards 2015 – ALBA MSc in Tourism Management Wins Silver Award
On March 12, the Tourism Awards 2015 Ceremony took place at the Athens Concert Hall. More than 600 members of the Tourism Industry attended this glamorous event. The ALBA MSc in Tourism Management won the Silver Award for the subcategory “Connection of Education with the labor market”.
PIERCE students win award for their innovative business Youthelp.gr
Congratulations to PIERCE-The American College of Greece’s student initiative youthelp, which won silver at the ninth annual Student Commercial Enterprise Trade Fair competition, held at The Mall Athens, where it also won the Award for Social Entrepreneurship.

When the Google Team came to the DEREE-ACG campus on February 26, it came as no surprise that a host of students, faculty and staff flocked to see them, and learn from their expertise.

PIERCE wins 8 awards at Harvard Model Congress Europe
Congratulations to PIERCE students for winning 8 awards at the prestigious Harvard Model Congress Europe, which this year took place in Madrid from 14-16 March.

Dr Elizabeth Gebhard Lectures on “Puzzle Solving” at the Poseidon Sanctuary at Isthmia
Speaking to archaeology students, faculty and guests at DEREE’s Center for the Arts Auditorium, Professor Elizabeth Gebhard of the University of Illinois at Chicago, gave an overview of the exciting findings at the sanctuary of Poseidon at Isthmia, where she excavated – both under American professor Oscar Broneer, who discovered the temple in 1952 – and later, when she became the director of the University of Chicago’s excavations at Isthmia – a post she has held since 1976.
“Beauty is the Method” Opens DEREE Art Festival
Faculty, staff, students, journalists, and other guests braved the rain and came to the opening of the 2015 Arts Festival on campus Friday, March 13 – admiring the exciting art on exhibit at the Beauty is the Method group show at the ACG Art Gallery – which kicked off the festival.

The second session of the Artful Leader series, “Strategy, Improvisation and All That Jazz”, with ALBA Associate Dean Kyriakos Kyriakopoulos and jazz saxophonist Markos Karavas, took place on February 2 and was a great success.

Well done to all those attending Let’s Play @ PIERCE, which took place on March 7-8 on campus and saw 450 students from schools around the country come together for friendly sports games.
