Dear ACG Alumni,
As ACG’s 140th academic year begins, I am pleased to update you on recent College developments, progress and plans.
Three ACG alumni interviewed by media on the Greek crisis
Three prominent ACG alumni were interviewed on the Greek financial crisis by major international media in the beginning of the summer. Miranda Xafa (DEREE ’73), who is CEO of EF Consulting and a former member of the board of the International Monetary Fund, spoke to Bloomberg on June 29.
ACG Trustees lead by example
We are proud to say that this past year all 22 members of the ACG Board of Trustees contributed valuable time, talent and philanthropic gifts to the College. Total board financial commitments (cash and pledges) for 2014-15 were $290,099.
ACG officials visit alumnus Makis Kosmatos at J&J
Alumnus Makis Kosmatos, (DEREE ’90), the Managing Director of Johnson and Johnson Hellas (J&J), met with American College of Greece (ACG) President David G. Horner and ACG’s Executive Director of Development Mary-Irene Triantafillou (DEREE ’89) at the J&J Headquarters in Athens on May 19th in order to reiterate their commitment to their partnership.
Celebrating the Anthony & Elizabeth Mitarachi Scholarship
Noted alumnus Notis Mitarachi (DEREE ’95) met with the 2014-2015 Anthony & Elizabeth Mitarachi Scholarship recipient Anastasios Xykis (DEREE ‘15, BA in Economics) on June 17th at DEREE in order to get to know Anastasios better and find out about his goals.
ACG Trustee Vana Lavidas meets study abroad student Ioanna Toutsidi
Vana Lavidas (DEREE ’79), American College of Greece Trustee and President of MDA Hellas, a charity for children with muscular dystrophy she founded, met with DEREE’s study abroad student Ioanna Toutsidi.
Alumna Xenia Kourtoglou writes in Fortune Greece
Alumna Xenia Kourtoglou (PIERCE ’72 and DEREE ’85, Bachelor’s in Business Administration), founder & managing partner at Focus Bari SA and co-founder at e-satisfaction, has written a very informative article on what makes a consumer favor a particular brand – the experience – and how to make this experience memorable, for Fortune Greece in its July issue.
Alumnus Panos Pavlidis on Linkedin
Alumnus Panos Pavlidis (DEREE ’87, BS Marketing Management), a Senior Consultant at Aspis Real Estate in Markopoulo, Attica, and also a senior consultant on Aquamerit Ltd, recently wrote two engaging articles, publishing them on Linkedin.
PanHellenic Exporters Association’s new Board of Directors features 3 ACG alumni
Three ACG alumni have been re-elected directors of the PanHellenic Exporters Association (PEA) after elections for a new Board of Directors took place on Wednesday, May 20th.
DEREE marketing alumni on SDE Board of Directors
The Greek National Advertisers’ Association SDE, member of the World Federation of Advertisers, has three DEREE marketing alumni on its new Board of Directors.
Four ACG alumni on new Board of Directors at EDEE
Congratulations to four ACG alumni who were voted onto the new Board of Directors at EDEE – the Association of Advertising and Communication Companies of Greece – at the end of June.
DEREE alumni at Discover DEREE Day
Two more alumni came to campus to share their experiences from their college years at DEREE with prospective students and their parents, who this July came to discover DEREE in record numbers and explored all the comparative advantages of a DEREE-The American College of Greece (ACG) education.
