LIBRA reveals new interns
The LIBRA Group has announced the names of 16 DEREE students chosen for internships in its myriad companies around the world – spanning communications, energy, shipping and other sectors – affording these students a unique hands-on experience with a leading global business group as part of the International Internship & Study Abroad Program (IISAP), founded by the American College of Greece and partner LIBRA.
DEREE student wins 2nd Place at TechNet’s 5th AFCEA Student Conference
Congratulations are in order for George Chatzitheodosiou who won the second prize for his presentation at the 5th AFCEA (Association for Communications, Electronics, Intelligence and Information Systems Professionals) Europe Student Conference, hosted on May 27-29 in Warsaw, Poland.
ACG boosts scholarship fund
The economic crisis gripping Greece has placed added demands on both students – eager to learn new skills to compete in the global marketplace – and families committed to meeting educational expenses. The American College of Greece (ACG) – an independent, non-profit institution – is responding to the crisis, and in line with the College’s 138-year-tradition of assisting students, is boosting aid, awarding $2.4 million in aid to 766 students or 20% of the ACG student population (including PIERCE and DEREE) during the 2012-13 academic year.
PIERCE students raise €18,000 for scholarships, charity
PIERCE students have raised just over €18,000 ($24,674.95) through fundraisers to support ten scholarships for fellow students and their favorite charities.
Aggelos Koronios heads ACG’s new Basketball Academy
Hall of Famer Aggelos Koronios, the renowned former Greek national team player (with 104 appearances) and head coach of A1 and A2 teams for the last eight years, including AEK Athens, will be coaching children at ACG’s newly-launched Basketball Academy.
