George Itsios (DEREE ’94) has become Country Manager at Safilo after having gained a wealth of experience at Swarovski, Swatch, Mercedes and the Fiat Group. Mr Itsios earned his BSc in Management/Organizational behavior at DEREE in 1994 and his MBA from the Cass Business School in 1995.
Anna Kanari (DEREE ’99) takes on as Deputy HR Director at Hellenic Duty Free Shops SA, Greece, with over a dozen years at the company and group, as well as a private psychotherapy practice of her own. Ms Kanari earned her BA in Psychology from DEREE in 1999, followed by her MSc in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the London School of Economics & Political Science in 2000.
Petros Theodorakis (DEREE ’01) takes over as Director of EMEA PCI Compliance at Carlson Wagonlit Travel in London after working as Head of Security and Compliance at Lebara Mobile in London for over a year, and previously as Corporate Security Services Manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland in London for just over two years.
Mr Theodorakis has also worked as a Security Specialist at Wind in Athens and at INFORM P. LYKOS SA in Athens, and for several years at the IT Helpdesk at DEREE while studying for his BSc degree in Computer Information Systems (which he earned in 2001). Mr Theodorakis also got his MSc in Telecommunications and Computer Networks Engineering (TeCNE) from London South Bank University in 2002.
Martina Gerhard (née Poulopati) (PIERCE ’98/DEREE ’04) has become Asset Team Lead, Global Creative & Digital Assets at Philips in Amsterdam after serving as Philip’s Global Campaign Manager for three years. Ms Gerhard built her career through several positions at McCann Erickson in Athens, where she excelled leading to a number of industry awards, before heading to San Francisco to work for McCann Worldgroup and later Gluly in Spain. She earned her BA in Communication from DEREE in 2004 and her Masters in Interactive Marketing from ESIC in 2010.
Despina Papadopoulou (PIERCE ’05) is now an Architect at Mathys & Stuecheli Architekten in Zurich, Switzerland after completing her Masters of Advanced Studies in Urban Design from ETH Zurich last year and her Masters in Architecture and a professional degree in Architectural Engineering from the Technical University of Crete in 2012. Ms Papadopoulou studied at PIERCE, where she graduated in 2005.
Svetlana Soboleva (DEREE ’09) has been promoted to B2B Team Leader at e-Travel SA, Greece from Online Marketing Executive and previously Customer Support Agent. Ms Soboleva has also worked as a Vendor Reconciliation Specialist at CiTY Insurance Brokers in Greece and as a PEER Tutor at DEREE for six months, where she also earned her BSc in Accounting & Finance in 2009.
Thanassis Stefanidis (PIERCE ’02/JUNIOR ’07/DEREE ’09) is now Leader Maitre d’ hotel @ The Wolseley in London, from Assistant Maitre d’of HIX restaurants in London, and work in management – communication at the BAITY KITCHEN in London. Mr Stefanidis has very close ties to ACG: he graduated from PIERCE in 2002, from Junior in 2007 and from DEREE with a BSc in Marketing in 2009, before studying Sports Management at the European School of Economics (PGD), doing a short course in People Diversity Management from the University of East London and a short course in Digital Marketing from the City University London in 2010.
