Natalie Aggelidou (PIERCE ’87 / DEREE ’92) is now a Talent Acquisition Specialist with Tquila in London, after working as a consultant in permanent recruitment for Eutopia Solutions in the UK, and as Senior Consultant at Vertex Solutions International Ltd in the UK. Her executive talent skills have also been sharpened through her work as a Recruitment Officer for the Andromeda Group in Athens, as Principal Consultant for Stanton Chase International in Athens, and through several positions at other companies in Greece.
After graduating from PIERCE in 1987, Ms Aggelidou earned her Bachelor’s degree in Management/Organizational Behavior from DEREE in 1992.
Marina Ananiadou (DEREE ‘90) is now the administrator of the www.myxalandri.gr – which caters to all those who work, live and move about in the area of Halandri – after working as a public relations and communications coordinator at the Nobile Group. She has also organized and helped with the running of sports and cultural events for the municipality of Halandri – working for the Office of the Vice Mayor for Culture, Youth, Education and Sports Support Management, in the Department of School Care, among other work.
Ms Ananiadou earned her BS in Accounting & Finance from DEREE in 1990.
Marios Mitromaras (DEREE ’93/ALBA ‘01) has become the Managing Director, Asia, of the INTRALOT Group promoted from Deputy Managing Director of INTRALOT Asia Pacific.
Prior to joining INTRALOT, Marios Mitromaras held senior management positions in the wire, consumer electronics, logistics & transportation, defense and aviation industries, having worked for O. Daring, Hitachi, CHEP, the GERMANOS Group of Companies and Olympic Handling, in his 26-year career.
Marios Mitromaras holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management & Organizational Behavior from DEREE (1993) and a PMBA from ALBA (2001).
Pavlina Proteou (DEREE ’93) is the Founder & CEO of Beyond CSR Net, which began operations in March this year, based in London and Athens. She has a wealth of experience in Public Relations and International Relations, consulting for Gerson Lehrman Group and the Consumers Institute of Greece (former INKA).
Previously, Ms Proteou also served as Head of Communications & Public Affairs for the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, worked as Head of International Affairs, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Defense, and was the 2002 Greek-EU Presidency Ministry of Finance’s Head of International Affairs, Spokesperson in Brussels and Athens.
Ms Proteou has also consulted on EU programs, and served as Editor-in-Chief of Ethnos Special Financial Editions at the Pegasus Group, while working for several years as an editor and analyst for a slew of media, including GRN (Global Radio Network), the Economist Intelligent Life (Greek & Russian Editions), Lambrakis Press-Economicos Tachydromos, SBC (Financial News TV Channel), and Athens News (English-language weekly-business editor)
She has also worked at the Bank of Piraeus as a Management Consultant in International Affairs and in Public & International Relations for Thema SA (Public Affairs company, Olympic DDB Needham Group), the International Chamber of Commerce, Athens-Paris (EU Projects), the Hellenic Federation of Telecom & IT Industries, Hellastat, and Re-power Greece.
Ms Proteou earned her Bachelor’s degree in History from DEREE in 1993 (where she was on the Dean’s list for Academic Excellence between 1990-1993), and holds an MA in Politics and International Affairs from the University of Warwick (1994). She has been Vice-President of the Hellenic Warwick Graduates Association, of which she is a founding member, since 2002. She has also been a member of the ACG/DEREE Networking Committee since February 2012.
Mary Neamonitakis-Mylonaki (DEREE ’94) is now an In-Home Counselor at Mount Olivet Rolling Acres in the Greater Minneapolis, St Paul area, and continues her work as a Crisis Line Volunteer at the Sojourner Project for Domestic Violence. While in Athens, she had her own private practice in counseling and in 1992-1996, led psychotherapeutic groups at the Aiginition Mental Hospital. She has also worked in public relations for BP Greece Ltd.
Ms Mylonaki received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from DEREE in 1994.
Marianthi O’Dwyer (DEREE ’94) is now Vice-President of Living Well, UK & Ireland and Head of Licensed Sales FMCG, EMEA at the Walt Disney Company in the UK. Ms. O’Dwyer began her career at the Walt Disney Company as a Category Manager, Stationery, Apparel & Home, for Greece & Cyprus in 1997 and worked in various senior positions at the Walt Disney Company in the UK beginning in 1999, working her way up.
After graduating from DEREE with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management in 1994, Ms O’Dwyer earned her MBA at the London Business School.
George Kefalas (JUNIOR ‘96/DEREE ‘98 /ALBA ’04) is now Executive Director, Retail Distribution of Bancpost SA in Romania, part of the Eurobank Group, having been promoted from Head of Retail Deposits, Personal Banking & Transactional Banking. He has also worked as a Sales Manager, Branches Network for Eurobank Greece for over three years, as Group Product Manager of Deposits & Investments for Millenium bcp, as Marketing Manager and Assistant Fund Manager at Bank of Cyprus Mutual Funds Co – and is also an official associate instructor for the Hellenic Bank Association.
Mr Kefalas went to JUNIOR in 1996, earned his BS in Accounting & Finance from DEREE (1998), and his MBA from ALBA (2004), while he also gave the Commencement Speech at the ALBA P-MBA graduation.
Chrisoula Papadopoulou (DEREE ’96) is the Head of Department of Business and Management at Webster University, Leiden Campus in The Netherlands. She has been working in the field of supply chain and operations for eighteen years both as an academic and as a consultant globally.
Dr Papadopoulou also runs her own transformation coaching company, “so to… business”, is the chair of the Academy of Entrepreneurial Achievement and serves in the strategic committee of the Board of Trustees at the American School of The Hague. She volunteers as the MIT coordinator for Benelux, as president of the Parent and Teacher Organization (PTO) and as a board member at the Safe Harbor (the school’s official “students in transition” committee) at the American School of The Hague.
In the past, Chrisoula Papadopoulou has worked for Nike as EMEA Supply Chain Planning Program Manager for supply chain innovation, as an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain & Logistics at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, and as a Lecturer of Logistics Systems at the MIT School of Engineering – Center for Transportation & Logistics.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Management and Organizational Behavior from DEREE in 1996, followed by her MBA (1997) and PhD (2001) from the University of Glasgow.
Carolina Georgatou (DEREE ‘99) has taken on as Director of Internal Communications, Consumer Lifestyle at Philips in Amsterdam after a long career at ING in Amsterdam, where she worked as Senior Communications Advisor and Senior Communications Manager for ING Bank, as well as Senior Communications Manager, Interim Marketing Manager and Brand Manager at the ING Group.
She has also worked as Head of Internal & External Communications & ING Renault F1 Manager at ING Insurance in Greece, and as a Project Manager at CIVITAS in Greece. Ms Georgatou served as Head of Alumni Relations at Ziridis Educational Organization in Athens.
She is also a professional photographer, having worked as a contributing photographer for Time Out Amsterdam for just over two years, and as an event planner for MEETinAMSTERDAM and other networking groups. Ms Georgatou offers her services as a coach for the BiD Network Foundation helping women in developing countries develop their business plans.
Ms Georgatou earned her BA in Psychology from DEREE in 1999 and her MSc in Public Relations from the University of Stirling in 2012.
Panos Halkias (DEREE ’01) has become International Sales Director at Transaction Systems Ltd./ Inpas International LLC, after serving as Supervisory Board Advisor, Director of Sales & Business Development at Servus Systems Integration Ltd in Kiev. His previous experience includes a number of top positions at Printec in the Ukraine – such as Managing Director, Executive Advisor to the CEO and Group Commercial Director.
Mr Halkias earned his BS in Accounting & Finance from DEREE in 2001.
George Karapoulios (DEREE ‘01) has worked his way all the way from Sales Representative for Imperial Tobacco Hellas in 2002 to Field Force Academy Consultant today at Imperial Tobacco, with a number of posts along the way with the same corporation. He also won the Exceptional Performance Award at Imperial Tobacco Hellas (January 2010).
Mr Karapoulios earned his BS in Marketing Management from DEREE in 2001.
Christos Alexandrou (DEREE ‘02) is a singer, songwriter and actor with a long career in the performing arts, and this summer he joins Nostos Records to produce his first studio EP album in Greek, with the title “Ston idio dromo” (On the same road). He released his first international album “One Look” in 2007 and was featured in various Original Cast Recordings from shows he did in the US and abroad. He was chosen by Warner music to sing the dance song “I’m a freak for your love” in 2012.
Christos Alexandrou is the lead singer in the Melodia Band and in the Minore Band, as well as the Artistic and Music Director at Ethos Productions. Mr Alexandrou is also a vocal coach, and has worked as a singing coach.
His new album features four original tracks written and composed by Christos, as well as a 5th bonus remix track, which is a musical collaboration with the popular Greek Hip Hop artist “The Rook” as they team up to cover the hit song “Nai Nai”(Yes, Yes) (originally recorded for Zig Zag, composed by Vaggelis Konstantinidis and Yiorgos Sarris).
Christos Alexandrou earned his BA in Music from DEREE in 2002, has studied musicology, singing and musical theatre, and studied alongside Robert Bicknell.
Markella Kapitsaki (JUNIOR ‘02/DEREE ‘03) is now Senior Product Manager at L’Oréal in Athens, from Senior Brand Manager at E.J. Papadopoulos SA in Athens. Ms Kapitsaki’s extensive experience includes Brand Manager at Arla Foods Hellas SA, Senior Brand Manager at Numil Hellas SA, Senior Brand Manager at Nutricia Foods, and other posts.
Ms Kapitsaki went to Junior in 2002, and earned her BS in Marketing in 2003 from DEREE.
Apostolos Karagavriilidis (DEREE ‘03/’05) has become Senior Product Manager – Pioneer, TomTom, Duracell & New Business at Intersys SA, where he has held a number of executive posts since 2009. He has also worked as a Communication Specialist and Product Manager – International Systems & Control for Schneider Electric.
Mr Karagraviilidis earned both his BS in Management (2003) and his MBA (2005) from DEREE.
Alkistis Kyza (DEREE ‘06) is now a Recruitment and Talent Executive at the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization. Previously, Ms Kyza worked as a Consultant at Secret Key, and at Linkage Inc, as an Associate Consultant at Response International, and as a Researcher/Junior Consultant at Stanton Chase International in Athens.
Ms Kyza earned her BS in Management from DEREE in 2006.
Konstantinos Moraitis (DEREE ‘07) has become Account Manager at Xerox SA. Previously, he worked as a Senior Account Manager at Byte Computer SA and in the same position at PSP Telecom & Network prior to that. He has also worked at Microsoft Hellas as a Public Sector Account Manager, and headed Large Accounts – Private Sector at PC Systems.
Mr Moraitis held the position of Inside Sales Manager – Account Manager for three years at Cisco Systems, where he was responsible for both private (Retail, Food chains, Hospitality, Banks and Health organizations) and state (Ministries, Municipalities and Public Authorities) clients.
He began working in the IT field as a System Administrator at the University of Indianapolis, Athens where he was responsible for IT, network security and was head of the computer lab. He then joined Cisco Systems SA as an Inside Sales Account Manager, and distinguished himself as EMEA Vendor Achiever, Best Inside Sales Account Manager for Cisco Systems in Turkey, Greece, Israel, and Cyprus 2004, and fourth Best Account Manager in Advance Technologies for Q1/2004 for Cisco Systems in Europe.
He has also worked as an account manager with General Data Business and as a Channel Account Manager at Logicom.
Mr. Moraitis earned his Bachelor’s degree from DEREE in Communication in 2007 and has a number of IT certifications.
Maria Riga (DEREE ’07) has taken over as Content Projects Coordinator at booking.com in Amsterdam to add to her role as Editor, having worked at the same company since 2008 – when she began her work there as a translator.
Previously, she worked as a Junior Content Coordinator for mobile applications at CLIQ Digital, among other posts.
Ms Riga graduated from DEREE in 2007 with a BA in Communication, while also earning a Bachelor’s degree from Panteion University in Mass Communication and Culture Administration in 2010.
Alex Ouzounis (DEREE ’08) is now a Software Configuration Build Engineer for GFI Software. Previously, he worked as a Gaia Software Engineer at the Royal Observatory of Edinburgh – Wide Field Astronomy Unit, as an Information Resource Manager at McDonald’s Corporation, and as an IT Consultant/Software Developer at Clever Constructions. In 2004, he worked in the IT sector in the build up and during the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
Mr Ouzounis graduated from DEREE with a BS in Computer Information Systems in 2008. He holds an MSc in Software Engineering from Heriot-Watt University (2009) and a Master’s degree in Distributed Scientific Computing from the University of Edinburgh (2010).
Nina Benroubi (PIERCE ‘09 / DEREE ‘14) now works in the Marketing and Communications Department at Protergia SA in Greece, after working in the International Internal communication Section of Cosmote in Greece dealing with communication campaigns and after internships with the Mytilineos Holdings Group and V&O Communication.
Ms Benroubi, a PIERCE graduate, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication from DEREE this year.
Zafeirenia Brokalaki (DEREE ‘12) has become Corporate Partnerships & Events Coordinator for Opera Holland Park in the UK. A freelancer business consultant for various cultural organizations, Ms Brokalaki also works as a Marketing & Fundraising Officer for the IJAD Dance Company, for the Emergency Exit Arts in the same post, and as a Business Development Manager for Sinthesis Media Co Ltd, all in the UK. She is also a Teaching Assistant at King’s College London, where she is studying for her PhD, and is also a PhD Tutor and Business Awards Assessor for King’s.
In 2014, Ms Brokalaki won Best Social Enterprise (business plan) amongst 400 applicants from all London Universities in the UCL Seventh Annual Enterprise Awards, and has earned a number of other distinctions.
Ms Brokalaki is also the founder of a new fashion agency for upcoming designers – the everafteragency, and has worked as a Project Manager/Marketing Manager for the Athens Fringe Network for three years in Athens, as a Marketing Manager for Vryssaki, Living Space for Art & Action in Athens, as a lecturer in Cultural Management at the University of the Peloponnese in Nafplion and as a Research Associate for the Victoria & Albert Museum.
She earned a BA in dance from the Higher Professional School of Dance in Greece in 2008, followed by her BA in Marketing & Communication from the Athens University of Economics and Business in 2009, her MA in Cultural Policy & Management from Warwick University in 2010 and her MA in Communication, Highest Honors, from DEREE in 2012.
Marijana B. Fedoroff (DEREE ’12) is now the Accounts Receivable Coordinator for the Accounting Department at The Charles Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Previously, Ms Fedoroff worked as the Receptionist for Global Real Estate and Facilities at ARIAD Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, and also served as President of the International Youth Committee for the International Federation of Blood Donor Organizations/Fédération Internationale des Organisations des Donneurs de Sang (IFBDO/FIODS) for just over three years, having worked her way up from Secretary of the IFBDO. Ms Fedoroff has also worked as an Assistant to the Managing Director at Bright New Media Production in Malta.
She earned her BS in International Business & European Affairs from DEREE in 2012, and was granted the Malta Government Scholarship annually from 2010-2012. She also received the ‘Outstanding Graduate of International Business & European Affairs Department’ award during the 2012 DEREE Student Awards Ceremony.
