DEREE graduate Cheliotis wins critical criminologist of the year award
Leonidas Cheliotis (DEREE ’03), Chancellor’s Fellow in Law ad co-director of the Centre for Law & Society at the University of Edinburgh, has won the 2013 Critical Criminologist of the Year Award by the Division on Critical Criminology of the American Society of Criminology “for distinguished accomplishments in research which have symbolized the spirit of the Division in recent years.”
DEREE alumnus Doulos runs 10 km for ACG and MDA Hellas
Congratulations to Dimitiris Doulos (DEREE ‘85), professor of Economics and Finance at DEREE, who participated in the Athens Marathon in the 10 km category, running on behalf of the College for MDA Hellas and in support of MDA’s ambassador Greg Polychronidis. His time was admirable, but more importantly his show of support invaluable!
DEREE alumna Delakou plays Isadora Duncan
Ioanna Delakou (DEREE ’03) is starring in My Life, Isadora Duncan at the Argos theatre in Athens, in a one-woman show directed by Thanasis Theologis, based on the life of the famed American dancer who was one of the founders of free expressionist dance and an advocate for a return to ancient Greek choreography.
DEREE alumnus Sarafidis launches scooterise for novel transport
Nikos Sarafidis (DEREE ’12) and his brother Konstantinos Sarafidis are innovating the way Athenians and tourists move about Athens through scooterise, a company that rents out electric tricycles as well as other high-end, high-tech transportation means.
