Alumnus Dimitris Stefanidis (PIERCE ’97), a multi-disciplinary designer and partner at G Design Studio, has won yet another recognition for his company: the Agency of the Year award at the 2015 Greek Graphic Design & Illustration. G Design Studio also won in 2013.
After graduating from PIERCE in 1997, Mr. Stefanidis was trained in London, Athens, and at New York’s Pratt Institute, where he completed his Master’s in Packaging and Communication Design.
Upon graduating, he was hired by Pentagram Design New York, a worldwide acclaimed design agency, where he was responsible for clients such as One Laptop Per Child – for which he designed with Michael Gericke the initiative’s identity – Novartis, Seven World Trade Center, Capital Partners, SOM and RAMSA Architects.
Dimitris Stefanidis has also worked as a senior designer at FutureBrand London, where he was responsible for branding Miofino, a product of Selecta; Europe’s largest vending services company, Kinstellar, a spin off of the global law firm Linklaters and Russian Standard Vodka, Russia’s number one premium vodka.
Before returning to Athens, Greece and becoming a partner at G Design Studio – an award winning brand design consultancy – he worked as a design consultant at FutureBrand Milan, responsible for the rebranding of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization’s (OTE) identity.
Mr. Stefanidis’ work has been showcased in numerous international publications, such as Pentagram’s Black Book, Communications Arts, Type Directors Club Annual New York, Graphis New Talent Annual; and in several magazines, e.g. HOW, STEP, CMYK and others.
He has also chaired the judging committee of the 2014 Greek Graphic Design and Illustration Awards and is an Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation and State Scholarships Foundation scholar.
