The American College of Greece Honors the Stavros Niarchos Foundation for its Support of the SNF Scholarship Program for Parallel Studies at DEREE-ACG & the Program’s Scholars
Over thirty scholars participating in the Scholarship Program for Parallel Studies at DEREE-The American College of Greece (ACG), along with their parents, faculty, and administrators from ACG gathered at the college’s campus in Ag. Paraskevi on May 22 to pay tribute to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), donor of the program. SNF supports high-achieving students who pursue parallel studies at DEREE and Greece’s public universities.
Waste Management for Europe and the Middle East Workshop held by DEREE, Columbia University & WTERT/Synergia
Professionals from small and large enterprises – even as far away as Israel – and from state organizations, such as Greek municipalities, joined students, faculty, and guests for a five-day interdisciplinary workshop on Waste Management, which wrapped up with a visit to a recycling facility in eastern Attica on May 22.

Tribute to GlaxoSmithKline & Students
The American College of Greece (ACG) is very grateful to GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Greece, for supporting two PIERCE-ACG students Lina Tsaroucha and Theofano Kapetaniou to attend the Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC), in the US last summer and thanked them at a celebrity event held on the DEREE campus on March 26, where they also got to hear from the students about their invaluable experiences.
ALBA at AMBA Global Conference
Mrs. Antonina Kalkavoura, Director of the Executive MBA at ALBA-The American College of Greece, shared “Lessons from Greece” during the Association of MBAs Global Conference for Deans and Directors that took place in Prague 13-15 May.
Growing Effective Entrepreneurial Teams – a discussion at ALBA
On May 11, ALBA’s entrepreneurship center AHEAD organized a discussion on how startups can grow effective entrepreneurial teams once the founding team needs to expand.
Third Round of VentureGarden at ALBA
The 3rd Round of VentureGarden began May 18 at ALBA with 35 participants. VentureGarden is an educational support program for early-stage entrepreneurs, which combines rigorous training with mentoring support. VentureGarden in Athens is run by ALBA’s entrepreneurship center AHEAD.
31st EGOS colloquium in Athens
The 31st EGOS colloquium (of the scholarly association European Group of Organizational Studies- EGOS) will take place for the first time in Greece on July 2-4 and specifically at The American College of Greece.
Piano at its Forte Wraps up at ACG
Piano at its Forte, the concerts series being hosted at The American College of Greece this year was brought to a close on May 13 by the extraordinary piano duo Beata Pincetić and Christos Sakellaridis, who performed original compositions and transcriptions by Mozart, the Candide overture by Bernstein, four Norwegian dances by Grieg and Two rags by Bolcom to a teeming audience at the PIERCE Theater.
PIERCE Opens its doors for Discover PIERCE DAY
Perspective students and their parents visited PIERCE-The American College of Greece March 29 for a full day of introduction to the school, its programs, scholarships, sports and cultural activities, state-of-the-art facilities, wonderful teachers and warm community of students, who also shared their experiences with perspective students.
