Three prominent ACG alumni were interviewed on the Greek financial crisis by major international media in the beginning of the summer. Miranda Xafa (DEREE ’73), who is CEO of EF Consulting and a former member of the board of the International Monetary Fund, spoke to Bloomberg on June 29.

Ms. Xafa was also interviewed on Bloomberg again as well as on the BBC on July 6th, and by Sky News on July 4th as the Greek debt crisis captured world attention.

DEREE alumnus Evangelos Charatsis (DEREE ’84), Managing Director of Beta Securities, was also interviewed on Bloomberg News: Life is Much Easier With the Euro. on July 1st and again on July 20th on when the Athens stock market would reopen.

PIERCE alumnus Nikos Tsafos (PIERCE ’99) was also interviewed on FRANCE 24 News Stream at the end of June, commenting on the disastrous consequences of a Grexit.

Nikos Tsafos is co-founder of enalytica and author. Currently, he lives in Washington DC. Both of his siblings are also ACG alumni: Panagiotis Tsafos (PIERCE ’94, JUNIOR ’97) and Kalliopi Eleni Tsafos who graduated from PIERCE in 1996.

Mr. Nikos Tsafos also published two articles in mid July in the German Marshall Fund of the United States. The first, entitled Egypt: A Market for Natural Gas from Cyprus and Israel?, explores the prospects for sending gas via pipeline from Cyprus and Israel to Egypt; and the second focuses on Financing Gas Projects in the Eastern Mediterranean. The articles were co-authored with Anastasios Giamouridis, and provide an analysis of the financing structures that could unlock the next wave of projects in the region.
