The Pierce Junior Achievement Club is an entrepreneurship club giving young students the chance to build their own mini-startup company, and to further develop their entrepreneurial mindset.
In March, members of this club had the incredible opportunity to visit the TV Station SKAI. Students Reina Felous, Konstantina Venieri, Marianna Chronopoulou, Evelina Serfioti, and Penny Argyri presented their venture called Wheels of Travel on the Ready Business TV show presented by Journalist Nikos Ypofantis.
President of the Junior Achievement Club Konstantina Venieri, and Sales Manager Marianna Chronopolou, described the mission and actions of the club. In their own words:
Alumnus Christos Lyras (P ‘92) Managing Partner at the innovation consultancy CLC Hippocampus Ventures, also participated as a mentor for the Junior Achievement Greece team. Furthermore, the team was supported by Pierce Professor of Economics George Tziros, who is the Junior Achievement Pierce Club’s Advisor.
The President of Junior Achievement Greece/SEN (Somateio Epiheirimatikotitas Neon) Mrs. Litsa Panayiotopoulos congratulated our Pierce students and the group for its visionary venture, and highlighted the many benefits of participating in educational entrepreneurship programs.
Following the students’ exposure on Ready Business, they were also asked to present their work on Christina Vidou’s radio broadcast Zoi.gr, where they also chatted with Sia Kosioni, Nikos Filippidis, and many more journalists at the station.
