Dr Papageorgiou, formerly the Academic Dean of the Alpine Center and a Lecturer in Tourism at the University of Surrey, joined DEREE as the new Head of Department for International Tourism and Hospitality Management (ITHM), School of Business, in September 2013.
Now in its fifth year of operation, the ITHM program has not only enjoyed sustained growth, but is also close to celebrating the award of degrees to its first graduating seniors in the summer of 2014. The program combines DEREE’s excellent reputation for management studies with sector-specific knowledge and skills from various areas of the tourism and hospitality industry. It is noteworthy that ITHM is the only DEREE program to date to include a credit-bearing Internship component.
