Three ACG alumni have been re-elected directors of the PanHellenic Exporters Association’s  (PEA) after elections for a new Board of Directors took place on Wednesday, May 20th.

All three ACG alumni were re-elected to the Board for having significantly contributed to the mission of the Association, especially during this time of crisis and global competition.

Well done to our ACG alumni!

• Alexandra Pitta-Chazapi (PIERCE ’67), PEA Vice Chairperson, who serves as Vice President and Managing Director of “ATTIKI” Bee Culturing Co.- Alexandros Pittas S.A. She is also a Member of the Board of the Athens Chamber of Commerce & Industry, President of the Export Department and President of Japan, Canada & Lebanon Sections.

• George Gerentes (DEREE ’98)  (Major: Accounting & Finance), PEA Financial Supervisor, who serves as President & CEO “N. GERENDES S.A. Industry of Agricultural Products”, Vice-President of GEROLIVE USE INC.

• Vasilios Katsos (PIERCE ’91), PEA Consultant, who serves as President and CEO of Pharmathen, and told Touch Base that “the pillar of exports can be a strong lever for growth for Greece and a substantial support of the economy. Through Pharmathen’s successful model of extroverted entrepreneurship, I wish to contribute to highlight the dynamism of Greece’s entrepreneurship, for the benefit of the country and its people.”

Representing The American College of Greece was ACG’s Executive Director of Development Mary-Irene Triantafillou (DEREE ’89), who also voted in the PEA elections.

The Panhellenic Exporters Association was established in 1945 and represents the entire body of Greek Exporters. It is the main export organization in Greece, and its members are enterprises, cooperatives and organizations engaged in exports of various export sectors from all geographical regions of Greece.

Members of PΕΑ produce, manufacture and export a large variety of industrial and agricultural products to practically every country in the world.

The new PEA Board of Directors set as its main priority to take multiple actions on many levels in order to promote necessary reforms, “which will unlock the extrovert dynamic of the Greek economy.”
