Two alumnae were on hand to discuss their DEREE and PIERCE experiences during the latest Discover DEREE Day that took place on April 5th at the Aghia Paraskevi Campus.
Mary Bitouni (PIERCE ’84), Owner/Managing Director at Humanis, told guests about her parallel studies at DEREE and her days at PIERCE and how these helped shape her career.
The PIERCE motto “Non Ministrari sed Ministrare” (Not to be served, but to serve), seems to have impacted my life and my decisions a lot more than I thought,” she said, adding how she always trod a road less travelled especially while studying at both DEREE and at the National Technical University (NTUA) (EMP), where she got her Mechanical Engineering BA in 1990.
Elly Andriopoulou (DEREE ’97), CEO at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, also reminisced on her College years and spoke to students about the ways in which DEREE helped her prepare for her successful career.
Potential students and their parents took the opportunity to explore the campus and discover the many advantages to a DEREE education – including internship opportunities and financial aid. Guests were able to tour the campus, sit in on a class, and also discussed their academic plans with faculty and alumni.
