Alumni Achievement Awards Stewardship Event
In a moving stewardship ceremony, the 2014 Alumni Achievement Award Benefactors met with scholarship recipients from PIERCE, DEREE, and ALBA, and were bestowed with certificates of appreciation at the Ag Paraskevi campus on April 22.
Dr Cheliotis (DEREE ’03) Wins Yet Another Award
Dr Leonidas Cheliotis (DEREE ’03), Assistant Professor of Criminology at the Department of Social Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science, has been selected for yet another award: the 2015 Outstanding Critical Criminal Justice Scholar Award by the American Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (Critical Criminal Justice Section). Dr Cheliotis won the award “for distinguished accomplishments in critical criminal justice scholarship across the most recent two-year period.”

Alexandros Ioannou (DEREE ‘11) received the gold award in Wine Culture for the Katogi Averoff Hotel and Winery located in Metsovo, Greece, in this year’s Tourism Awards.
ACG President Horner Meets Hong Kong’s ACG Family
It’s always a treat to catch up with alumni and others from the ACG family who are enjoying working abroad, and so it was for ACG President Dr David G. Horner who along with his wife Dr S. Sue Horner met up with two Hong Kong alumni and a former ACG Trustee on March 22 for dinner in Hong Kong.
Washington’s ACG Alumni Gathering
A group of ACG Washington Alumni met up on Tuesday March 31 at the ATRIUM, Lobby level, Capital Tower of the Crystal Gateway Marriott, and committed to reaching out to other alumni in the Washington DC area, in order to provide support to ACG interns and study abroad students that come to DC.

Alumni Achievement Award 2014 winner Paris Kafantaris, (DEREE ’80), WE Marketing Vice President at Procter & Gamble, was back on campus April 9 to receive one of three 2014 business awards given out to ACG Alumni, as his travel and business obligations had not allowed him to be present during the 2014 Alumni Achievement Awards in the fall.
Zonar’s Gets New Life from DEREE Alumnus Chrysanthos Panas & Brother Spyros
Chrysanthos Panas (DEREE ‘96), the entertainment guru of Athens, and his brother Spyros, have a new project: the transformation of downtown Athens through the stylish upgrade of three recently-purchased establishments, the historic café Patisserie Zonar’s – which they hope to restore to its former glory days, when intellectuals frequented its tables – the City Bistro Restaurant and City Bar in downtown Athens’ City Link area, now considered the upper class theatre district of the capital.
