On Sunday, January 24, the Propeller Club members met at the Hotel Grand Bretagne to celebrate the new year, and hold their annual pitta cutting ceremony. During the event, Deree students Aggeliki Andreadaki, Propeller Club Scholarship recipient, and Kiriaki Karadimou, Propeller Club Award recipient, were honored and gave a short speech thanking the Propeller Club and its members as well as the College, for the help they have received which has enabled them to further their education.
Aggeliki is the recipient of The Propeller Club Endowed Scholarship and is majoring in Management. Parallel to her studies, she is also working full-time in the department of Administration and Customer Service at EUROCORPEX, a chemical technology company. Aggeliki is an avid reader and poetry enthusiast, and expects to graduate in the summer of 2017.
Kiriaki is the recipient of The Propeller Club Award, majors in Information Technology, and hopes to graduate in the spring of 2017. She is also working at the Student Academic Support Services at Deree, as part of the Work Study Program, and also works part-time at the TEMENOS Group, a company specializing in financial services software. Kiriaki also has a degree in Theater Arts from VEAKI Theater School, and stands out for her volunteering mission at the Animal Shelter of Kessariani, and her love of the arts.
The event was attended by members of the ACG community, including President Horner and S. Sue Horner, Pierce Principal Julius, and VP of Enrollment and Administration, Dr. Andreou. The Pierce Traditional Club Association was applauded by the guests for their performance of folk dances from the Greek islands.
