Course Tools

A group under the Control Panel that has all available tools that can be added to the course via Content pages.

The following list is based on the Original View of Blackboard. To see which of the following functions have been changed or deleted in the upgrade click here

These tools are :

AchievementsAn achievement is an indicator of an accomplishment, skill, competency, or interest students can achieve. Create achievements for course completion, a milestone or create a custom achievement.
Announcements– OriginalWith announcements, you can present auspicious data basic on course success. You can include, alter, and erase announcements from the Announcements page.
Blogs– OriginalA blog is basically a personal online journal that is updated frequently and is intended for public use.
Contacts– OriginalContacts is a place where you add profile information about yourself and distribute it to the students.
Content Market ToolsTools for managing partner content in your course.
Course Calendar-OriginalCourse calendar is used to provide students with dates for course-related events.
CourseEval– OriginalElectronic questionnaire
Discussion Board– OriginalDiscussion board tool, is used to create a virtual discussion where course members can replicate the discussions that take place in the traditional classroom.
Glossary – OriginalEach course has its own glossary of terms, that consist of terms and definitions.
Journals– OriginalJournals are a personal space for students to communicate privately with the instructor.
Link Checker-OriginalChecks for broken weblinks in the course.
MS TeamsBring educators and students together with online meetings in Teams.
Self and Peer Assessment-OriginalSelf and Peer Assessment is intended to have students assess their own or each others work.
Send Email-OriginalThe email tool allows you to send email to other people in your course from within Blackboard Learn.
Tasks – OriginalThe Tasks tool is used to organize projects or activities that are refereed as tasks.
Tests, Surveys, and PoolsSets of questions that are graded to measure student performance.
Wikis– OriginalWikis allow course members to contribute and modify pages of course related materials.
