Course Tools

A group under the Control Panel that has all available tools that can be added to the course via Content pages. The following list is based on the Original View of Blackboard. To see which of the following functions have been changed or deleted in the upgrade click here These tools are :
Tools Description
Achievements An achievement is an indicator of an accomplishment, skill, competency, or interest students can achieve. Create achievements for course completion, a milestone or create a custom achievement.
Announcements– Original With announcements, you can present auspicious data basic on course success. You can include, alter, and erase announcements from the Announcements page.
Blogs– Original A blog is basically a personal online journal that is updated frequently and is intended for public use.
Contacts– Original Contacts is a place where you add profile information about yourself and distribute it to the students.
Content Market Tools Tools for managing partner content in your course.
Course Calendar-Original Course calendar is used to provide students with dates for course-related events.
CourseEval– Original Electronic questionnaire
Discussion Board– Original Discussion board tool, is used to create a virtual discussion where course members can replicate the discussions that take place in the traditional classroom.
Glossary – Original Each course has its own glossary of terms, that consist of terms and definitions.
Journals– Original Journals are a personal space for students to communicate privately with the instructor.
Link Checker-Original Checks for broken weblinks in the course.
MS Teams Bring educators and students together with online meetings in Teams.
Self and Peer Assessment-Original Self and Peer Assessment is intended to have students assess their own or each others work.
Send Email-Original The email tool allows you to send email to other people in your course from within Blackboard Learn.
Tasks – Original The Tasks tool is used to organize projects or activities that are refereed as tasks.
Tests, Surveys, and Pools Sets of questions that are graded to measure student performance.
Wikis– Original Wikis allow course members to contribute and modify pages of course related materials.
Milestones – Ultra Milestones allow teachers to motivate students by acknowledging specific accomplishments during a course with the method of Badges.
